Consultant in Respiratory Medicine
NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant
Job overview
The Lancashire Chest Centre (LCC) is one of the youngest Tertiary centres in the country and has evolved to deliver innovative regional services over a large geographical foot print encompassing Lancashire and South Cumbria. Our NHSE commissioned Tertiary services include Severe Asthma, Long Term Ventilation and Interstitial Lung Disease. The LCC also has nationally recognised Iinterventional Pulmonology and Complex Breathlessness/Airways Services.
The Respiratory services are undergoing a transformation project to support the delivery an effective 7 day front ended respiratory service with enhanced support for our local and regional patients. There is commitment to deliver 7 day consultant led ward rounds, delivery of a 7 day respiratory assessment unit to support early assessment of acute respiratory patients as well as the delivery of a dedicated 12 bedded Respiratory High Care Unit that supports the regional long term ventilation unit.
The LCC is evolving exciting links to regional Universities to develop an academic Respiratory Hub for Lancashire and South Cumbria and if you wish, you can be afforded time to support engagement with the Universities to develop research and educational roles.
