Job overview
The new appointee will have duties in the hub and across the spoke sites Wigan, Morecambe Bay or Blackpool. The network has a total of twelve Vascular Consultants, and the successful candidate will be one of a team of 9 Middle Grades working across the four trusts, participating in a “Vascular Surgeon of the Week” and a separate vascular on call and weekend rota.

The vascular surgeon of the week (VSOTW), whose routine duties are cancelled for the week, is responsible for daily ward rounds, emergency referrals and admissions and coordinating and undertaking emergency interventions.

Job plans are arranged in order that each non-arterial trust has a consultant and/or middle grade vascular surgical presence on at least three days per week.
