Job overview

This is a Trust wide vacancy in various locations - Lancaster and Morecambe, Fylde and Wyre, Preston, Chorley South Ribble and West Lancashire

To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team:-

  • To take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers.
  • Within a systemic and holistic framework undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and brief therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service, including  as a result of deliberate self-harm.
  • To screen referrals, signpost and offer an assessment to make sure children and young people are accessing the right services in a timely manner.
  • To provide a duty function within the team where delegated.
  • As part of an integrated CYPMH service, actively liaise and support robust partnership working arrangements between the CYPMH Team and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies in order that an integrated package of care is developed.

Main duties of the job

Join our CYPMH (CAMHS) team as a Triage Practitioner in Lancashire and South Cumbria, transforming children and young people's mental health. We're seeking 5 Triage and Assessment Practitioners to pioneer a role in our new CYPMH access hub. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality assessments, clinical interventions, and leading clinical governance and quality improvement.

With your help, we're deliver a new integrated Thrive model, which will revolutionise the CYPMH service and transform young lives.

Your Role:

· Deliver high-quality, timely, and accessible assessments, manage a clinical caseload, and provide brief clinical interventions.

· Contribute to high-quality service delivery, ensuring responsive and personalised care.

· Provide and receive clinical supervision, enhancing service quality.

· Engage in partnership building, quality improvement, and clinical governance.

· Work alongside our expert Team Leaders, Service Integration Managers, and Senior Clinical Leads.

Working for our organisation

£7k Welcome Bonus:

*The £7k Welcome Bonus package applies to this role.  The bonus is only available for people who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in a like-for-like role; e.g. a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT. Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 24 months of employment. This bonus is applicable to any successful candidate whose interview for this role is conducted prior to 30th June 2024.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:

 

·         £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)

·         £2,000 after 12 months

·         £2,000 after 24 months

PLEASE NOTE: This bonus scheme is subject to a Repayment Clause should the post holder leave this role within 24 months of commencing employment.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • First level qualification, Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Child) or Qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapy
  • Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • An ability to think systemically and holistically
  • Demonstrable Knowledge and skills in evidence based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers
  • Demonstrable Knowledge and skills in evidence based therapeutic interventions relevant to the needs of this client group

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous months experience of working within Children and Young Peoples Mental Health
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Child Mental Health
  • Evidence of an ability to effectively manage own workload and able to work autonomously

Personal

Essential criteria
  • An ability to be flexible and innovative to adapt to the changing needs of the developing service.
