Job overview
Due to progression Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Nursing Associate to join our Treatment Room service across the Ashton, Wigan and Leigh Community Borough.
We offer a structured preceptorship supported by our Education team for all new starters and a robust competency framework. Successful candidates will be encouraged and supported to develop and progress within their role.
Monday to Friday working pattern, which is a full time 37.5 hours post.
You must hold the Nursing Associate Foundation degree with NMC registration and have community experience.
Main duties of the job
- You will have a variety of clinical skills and be able to demonstrate continued professional development. You will have highly developed communication and personal skills.
- You will have the ability to work alone but still be a team player. If you feel you are adaptable, self motivated and able to respond to challenges then please apply for this position. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check + Adults' Barred Lists, which will be obtained during pre-employment checks.
- Applicants will be required to see patients and families face to face within a Treatment room setting.
- You will need to be able to travel independently across the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To undertake the delivery of nursing care as delegated by the Treatment Room manager, for example, running of a B12 clinic across various sites.
- To work at all times in accordance with all Trust policies, procedures and protocols specific to the service.
- To provide high quality, sensitive and competent care for patients, by demonstrating practical and ongoing application of your underpinning knowledge, as appropriate to your AP qualification.
- To maintain accurate patient care records in accordance with the Trust Guidelines for Records and Record Keeping.
- To be involved in aspects of progressive information technology, i.e. inputting data for system one and communication tools as appropriate practice, within the Treatment room Service.
- To contribute to the administration duties required by the service. For example, telephone enquiries, filing patient’s notes.
- To ensure information is accurate and up to date for future reference and complies with Data Protection Act.

- Previous experience of working in a health care environment, undertaking a full range of clinical competencies and foundation degree competency portfolio and short courses.
