This is an exciting opportunity to join WWL as a Senior Workforce Data Analyst, playing a pivotal role in shaping our digital workforce future.

Main duties of the job
About the Role
As a key member of the Workforce Analytics & Systems Team, you will lead on the provision of high-quality workforce data, reporting, and system optimisation across the Trust.
You will work closely with the Head of Workforce Systems & Data Analytics to support strategic decision-making, workforce planning, compliance and delivery of the People Strategy.
This role includes:
- Leading the development of innovative data dashboards (Power BI/Qlik) with narrative-driven insight
- Ensuring ESR and all workforce systems are optimised, accurate and fully integrated
- Providing expert analysis to support recruitment, retention, absence, wellbeing and EDI workforce priorities
- Managing data integrity, quality assurance and audit processes
- Supporting statutory returns (e.g. WRES, WDES, PWR, NWRS)
- Leading on workforce systems training, capability-building and digital workforce improvements
- Managing and developing a Workforce Information Analyst
This is a highly influential role, supporting conversations at Executive, Divisional and system level.
You must be able to travel between the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh sites as required by business needs.

Essential Experience & Skills
- · Significant experience in workforce data analysis, data visualisation or systems administration
- · Advanced analytical skills, including managing large datasets, trend analysis and complex reporting
- · Expertise in Microsoft Excel and strong skills in BI tools (Power BI/Qlik/SSRS)
- · Experience developing dashboards, reporting suites and data quality processes
- · Proven experience using ESR or similar systems, including upgrades and optimisation
- · Experience delivering workforce data to senior stakeholders
- · Ability to lead/contribute to system improvement projects and service redesign
- · Highly effective communication skills, able to explain complex data clearly
- · Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with ability to work under pressure
Desirable
- • Experience working in NHS workforce, HR, payroll or finance data
- • SQL, AI/digital automation, or advanced analytics experience
- • Understanding of rostering systems (HealthRoster)
- • Experience managing a team
- • Knowledge of procurement or IT contract management

Essential criteria
- Degree-level qualification in relevant subject OR equivalent experience in workforce data/systems
- Evidence of further education, training, or professional development
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of CPD and/or project management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience analysing workforce or HR data (e.g. ESR or similar systems)
- Experience producing workforce reports, dashboards and analytical outputs
- Significant experience of presenting complex workforce information to senior stakeholders
- Experience managing large datasets and applying a range of analytical techniques
- Experience identifying trends, patterns and providing insight to inform decision-making
- Experience supporting workforce planning, forecasting or modelling
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within the NHS or public sector
- Experience using data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik)

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex workforce datasets
