ASSISTANT CLAIMS AND INQUEST OFFICER

 22.5 hours per week

 

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country and we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic and motivated individual, based at Belgrave House on the Leicester General Hospital site.

 

This post is substantive.

 

This is an extremely demanding but diverse and interesting role.  As an Assistant Claims and Inquest Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of claims in accordance with national and local policies and procedures.  You will be required to work to tight deadlines. You will liaise with individuals at all levels, including senior staff, solicitors, NHS Resolution, HM Coroner, the Police and members of the public.

 

You will have a detailed understanding of civil law procedures and the principles of negligence.   You will be able to work in a high-pressure environment and will have excellent communication skills.  You will also have highly developed interpersonal skills, the capacity to deal with highly sensitive situations and the ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues across the Trust and with external agencies.
