Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Paediatric Intensive Care

Band 7 - Band 8A

We are actively promoting flexible working options, helping you to manage a work / life balance

This is a great opportunity to upskill and develop in a clinical role within the Leicester Childrens Hospital and East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre (EMCHC).

We are looking for a skilled and motivated person to train in Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner to come and train at the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

You will be working on the Paediatric Intensive Care Units joining a wider team of 6 fully trained ACPs working within EMCHC and the transport service. Part of the time will be spent working as a trainee advanced clinical practitioner for PICU working under supervision at first, but increasingly autonomously depending on experience and aptitude, to undertake pre and post-operative care on the Paediatric Intensive Care Services. Opportunities will be provided to develop skills in critical care transports and repatriations of infants, children and young people. The other part of the role will be spent in a clinical role in the applicant’s base specialty which will be negotiated with your existing line manager.

The split between these two parts will normally be 50:50, but this is subject to negotiation to fulfil the needs of the applicant and the service.

We will look forward to reviewing your applications.
