To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Trainee Fellow in Undergraduate Medical Education to join the Undergraduate Medical Education team, as part of our Medical division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of medical education for our next generations of doctors in psychiatry.
The role is full-time at 10PAs per week. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share and part time, however, due to the nature of the role there is limited scope for remote working.
Please note: this role is only open to applicants with the rights to work in the UK.
Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity for aspiring educators to be part of our multidisciplinary Undergraduate Teaching Team to build upon new initiatives and our successful work to date. You will play an integral part in developing and delivering the excellent teaching and clinical experience we offer to the 3rd and 4th year Medical Students, to enrich their learning experience. We lead by example with the educational experience we provide, using innovative teaching techniques to aid the development of the next generation of future doctors.
The fellowship will be for a period of 12 months and will comprise of working in the Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS), to provide clinical experience to the Medical Students, from the University of Lincoln. You will also co-facilitate online and in-person teaching sessions, contributing to the development of clinical teaching, to meet the Medical Students’ learning objectives.
The Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS)
The MHLS provides multi-disciplinary core 24 specialist liaison psychiatry input to any United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) acute care hospital site, including Boston Pilgrim Hospital and Lincoln County Hospital for 16+ year old patients. Grantham District Hospital currently has a limited Liaison Psychiatry service due to A&E being downgraded to an Urgent Treatment Service. The service at the Grantham Hospital site will operate mainly 9.00am to 5.00pm, 7 days a week.
Working for our organisation
Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the principal provider of NHS mental health services, as well as providing some learning disability, autism, and social care services across the county. We were one of the first foundation trusts to be established in the country. The Trust has an annual income of approximately £120m with around 2,800 staff spread across the 40+ locations. The Trust cares for around 53,000 patients a year and has around 200 inpatient beds across the Trust.
The Trust has an active and successful research department. We deliver an impressive portfolio of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) clinical trials across the county, covering all areas of clinical care. A team of NIHR funded delivery staff support this work. The Trust has established a strong track record for delivery of industry trials and was highly praised by CQC for our commitment to dementia research.
