Medical Secretary Orthodontic and Maxillofacial

Band 3

The Orthodontic & Maxillofacial Department is seeking an enthusiastic Medical Secretary to provide a comprehensive, accurate and confidential support service to the Maxillofacial Surgeons at Pilgrim Hospital. This is a full time post at 37.5 hours per week to be worked over 5 days.  

The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, English Language GCSE Grade C minimum (or equivalent) and be a competent user of Microsoft Word & Excel.  Candidates must also have audio typing to RSA III or equivalent experience. 

As a minimum, the post holder will have had experience in working in a busy office environment, an ability to use their own initiative and prioritise work to achieve deadlines. Recent experience of the NHS,  medical terminology, comprehensive understanding of RTT pathways and knowledge of Medway would be an advantage.
