The Safeguarding, Public Protection and Mental Capacity Team are offering an exciting opportunity for a registered practitioner with experience in mental health, learning disability and autism. This is a varied, dynamic role within a supportive team that shares strong values and a common goal: to keep people safe and uphold their rights.

You’ll develop specialist knowledge across safeguarding, public protection and the Mental Capacity Act and have opportunities to share this through training, providing advice, and working closely with clinical teams. You’ll also support the multi-agency to advocate for individuals and help shape systems that protect adults, children, and families.

This role is mainly office-based within our new Trust Safeguarding Hub — a collaborative environment where experienced practitioners work side-by-side, offering live support, sharing knowledge, and learning together. We’re seeking a registered practitioner with experience of working as a professional in mental health settings as well as experience of safeguarding processes and developed interpersonal skills that promote a strong sense of team. Main duties of the job

Within this post you will be an integral member of the team, developing skills in delivering training and working as part of a team within the safeguarding hub, which is a responsive unit and provides an increasingly supportive function within the organisation.

You will also support the multi-agency to support their understanding of mental health, learning disability and autism and appropriate access to services with an aim of increasing safety and improving people's lives. Learning and development across the safeguarding domains requires regular contact with experienced practitioners to support learning and immediate access to guidance. This is particularly important during the initial period of practice, typically within the first 12 to 18 months, when regular and consistent co-location with the team is essential to build professional confidence and competence.

In addition, when working in the Safeguarding Hub, a physical presence in the office is required to ensure supportive teamwork, effective communication, collaboration, and service delivery. This requirement will remain in place regardless of experience level.
