Job overview

Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (LPFT) is a Talking  Therapies service. The opportunity has arisen for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners based across county.  The Service provides evidence based interventions within a stepped care model, for the treatment of people with mild to moderate common mental health problems. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national initiative, which has fundamentally changed the way in which psychological treatments are provided. Post holders will be expected to work at least one evening session a week and possibly Saturdays in the future.

We are looking for a motivated individuals who is qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner holding the IAPT Low Intensity training course certificate in psychological therapies and Registered with the BABCP or BPS. Please do not apply unless you hold this qualification.

Post holders will be expected to work at least one evening session a week and possibly Saturdays in the future.

Main duties of the job

The Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide, assessment and treatment of common mental health problems based on the NICE guidance. These include computerised cognitive behavioural therapy, psycho-educational groups and guided self-help; the majority of interventions will be based on a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach. Interventions may be delivered as group work or individual work through telephone contact, computer messaging, email or face-to-face. Regular case management and clinical skills supervision will be provided by qualified supervisors. The service has a strong commitment towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD), staff wellbeing and providing quality services.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Post Graduate Certificate in low intervention Psychological Therapies
Desirable criteria
  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy
  • Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree
  • Psychology or other health related postgraduate degree

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Demonstrates and understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Evidence of working in the local community

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
