Medical Education Co-ordinator

NHS AfC: Band 5

Job overview

Are you an experienced administrator with excellent organisational skills and a passion for supporting learning and development? We are looking for a Medical Education Co-ordinator to join our friendly and busy team at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

In this varied role, you will lead the co-ordination of Resident Doctor Induction, weekly postgraduate teaching, study leave, training programmes, conferences and Medical Education projects. You will work closely with senior medical educators, doctors, NHS England and colleagues across the Trust, while line managing the Medical Education Administrator.

You will be confident managing multiple priorities, resolving problems and maintaining accurate records. Strong communication, Microsoft Office, database and reporting skills are essential, together with line management experience and the ability to work using your own initiative.

The role offers hybrid working, with a base at Unit 8, The Point, Sleaford. Independent travel to other Trust sites will be required preferrably with own transport.

If you are methodical, adaptable and committed to creating a positive experience for doctors in training, we would welcome your application.

Main duties of the job

You will lead and co-ordinate the delivery of medical education activities for resident doctors, SAS doctors and consultant psychiatrists. This includes organising Resident Doctor Induction, weekly postgraduate teaching, training programmes, conferences and workshops, both online and face-to-face.

You will manage trainee allocations, study leave applications, budgets and expenditure; maintain accurate education, training and compliance records; populate training rotas; and analyse feedback from induction, teaching and national surveys. They will resolve complex queries and respond effectively to changes, including speaker cancellations and some rota cover.

The role provides professional administrative and project support to the Director and Associate Director of Medical Education, tutors and educators. It includes supporting meetings, business cases, strategies, reports, presentations, newsletters and website content, alongside liaison with NHS England and partner organisations.

You will line manage the Medical Education Administrator, oversee workload and development, and provide responsive and compassionate support to doctors in training. They will work independently, prioritise competing demands and contribute to service improvement across Medical Education.

Working for our organisation

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire. Employing around 2,800 staff, and serving a population of over 766,000, our people lie at the heart of everything we do.

You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England, in an area heralded as a fantastic place to live and work. We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of ‘outstanding’ for well-led and ‘good’ overall. In the most recent National NHS Staff Survey, our staff rated us as the number one trust nationally for staff morale and one of the top scoring NHS Trusts in the Midlands for being compassionate and inclusive. We’re really proud of this!

We are also leading the way in transforming care, with multi-million-pound transformation of patient environments and radical redesign of community services.

This is the time to join and help redesign our services of the future. We offer options for flexible working and provide a wide range of training and promotion opportunities in all professions.
