Job overview
The post holder will require to:
· Co-ordinate and populate rotas across the Emergency Department.
· Manage the day to day delivery of administration service using monitoring tools, problem solving skills and escalating problematic issues
Main duties of the job
· To maintain the various medical rotas taking a pre-active approach to filling vacant on-call shifts. Liaising with temporary staffing as appropriate.
· Provide cover for doctor’s sickness and any leave.
· Provide admin support to the Urgent Care management team
· Liaise with the Clinical lead on a regular basis
· Work under own initiative, with manager available for reference when required
· Contribute to achievement of relevant Divisional objectives and goals.
· Be a role model providing excellent customer service and world class care.
Line management responsibilities
· Coordinate the daily delivery of the service managing annual leave and sick leave, and providing cover when required.

Experience

- Experience of working in a public / patient facing role
Desirable criteria
- Previous work experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience of working with Cerner, or similar electronic patient administration systems
- Experience of working with Health Rota or Health Roster
- Previous experience as a rota co-ordinator or managing the rota
Skills and Aptitudes

- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use initiative and problem solve, in a busy clinical environment
- Typing and data entry skills
- Good level of computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and databases

- Sympathetic attitude to patients, relatives and staff who may be extremely distressed or anxious
