Job overview
We are very pleased to offer the appointment of a senior clinical fellow with a special interest in Endocrinology at the Royal Free London Hospitals NHS Trust. The post is based at Barnet Hospital. This post offers an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join a committed team of consultants in this well-developed service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to work in the Endocrinology Department. The post involves a commitment to inpatient diabetes and endocrinology under the supervision of the “Endocrinology Consultant of the week”. There will also be an outpatient commitment with clinics in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Barnet Hospital, including the recently established AAU Hub (AEC) specialty Hot Clinic service.
Applicants for the post should be IMT3 or above at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job
The post is based at Barnet Hospital and duties include:
- Outpatient clinics in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Barnet Hospital
- Barnet AAU Hub (AEC) Endocrine Hot clinic (Tuesday and Thursday AM)
- Inpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology – the postholder will be one of the junior doctors in the inpatient team, but will not be participating in the general medical on call rota.
- Inpatient duties include seeing ward referrals, joining ward rounds and leading the other junior doctors in the provision of the inpatient service
The clinics in the timetable below will only run when there is a consultant available to supervise the list (this will be approximately 50% of the weeks as the consultants cancel clinics for other responsibilities.
* N.B. On sessions when the clinic is not running and you have no list, you will be part of the endocrinology inpatient team.
