Deputy Phlebotomy Manager

SYNLAB Pay Band 5

The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Job overview

We are seeking a Deputy Phlebotomy Manager on a 6-month fixed-term basis to support a safe, efficient, and patient-focused phlebotomy service. You will work closely with the Department Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and service improvements. This is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills, help the service meet demand, support diagnostic pathways, and deliver an excellent patient experience.

For internal applicants, we can consider this as an acting‑up or secondment opportunity. We are not currently appointing permanently pending the outcome of consultation with Broomfield Hospital employees for the new MSE Trust Pathology contract

Main duties of the job

  • Support a safe, efficient, and patient-focused phlebotomy service
  • Assist the Department Manager with day-to-day coordination and staff supervision
  • Drive service improvements and ensure operational continuity
  • Contribute to diagnostic pathways and enhance the patient experience

Working for our organisation

Our staff are crucial to our mission of making a positive impact on healthcare. We foster a culture of continuous personal development, providing scientists and staff with the support and resources needed to acquire new skills and advance their careers through learning and development opportunities, coaching, and clear career pathways.
