Job overview

You will be working within the Lung cancer screening team which is based at Phoenix House, Basildon, Essex. 

The working hours will be Monday-Friday 9am-16.30 and will involve agile working as per the service requires.

You will possess excellent administrative skills and good working relationships with colleagues. You will be an excellent communicator and can prioritise your workload ensuring that work is completed in a safe and timely manner.

 

Main duties of the job

Send out invites letters to potential eligible patients 

register/discharge patients via systemone

make/amend follow up appointments

Answer general enquires and divert calls

send out SMS messages as and when required

Complete End of Day work book from CT scanner

Starting with NELFT 
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. 

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. 

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,303 to a maximum of £2,198 p.a. pro rata for part time).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with a range of people, on the telephone, promptly and in a professional and courteous manner whilst recognising barriers to communication.
  • Respond to enquiries, and take appropriate action on behalf of the service, either by telephone, or correspondence within agreed time limits.
  • Ensure workload is managed and prioritised appropriately
  • Establish and maintain electronic filing systems.
  • Knowledge of system one, excel, word
  • You will be expected to Triage high risk Lung cancer patients to ensure they meet the basic criteria
  • Work closely with the acute hospital
  • Send out invite letters, make and amend appointments, follow up DNA’S
  • Be able to follow processes and procedures as part of the National programme
  • Register and Discharge patients on the programme
  • Complete general administrative duties as per the National guidelines and local processes
  • Cancel CT requests
