Job overview
The Systems Principal for ePMA and eOBS will act as the expert technical lead for both systems, ensuring their optimal performance, integration, and development. The post holder will manage system administration, user support, configuration, and enhancements, while contributing to strategic developments aligned with Trust objectives.

Main duties of the job
Provide expert technical support to ensure 24/7 availability of ePMA and eOBS systems.
Lead on system upgrades, including planning, testing, and implementation.
Lead collaboration with Infrastructure Engineers to coordinate and oversee the monthly security patching and testing of both non-production and production environments, ensuring minimal disruption and full compliance with Trust security protocols
Manage technical development and change requests from specification to deployment.
Work collaboratively with digital colleagues to ensure a robust, reliable, and user-friendly Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is in place and ready to be activated for both the ePMA and eOBS systems if required.
Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support system enhancements and resolve issues.
Lead or participate in specialist projects, including testing workstreams and issue resolution.
Maintain system documentation, test logs, and provide summary reports.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical safety case for both ePMA and eOBS systems, particularly when implementing system changes.
Ensure compliance with Trust policies, data protection, and clinical safety standards.
Deliver training and guidance to end users as required.

Bethlem Royal Hospital
Bethlem Royal Hospital is based in a beautiful setting in over 200 acres of green space in the London Borough of Bromley, South East London. The hospital has easy access to nearby main roads and have offers free parking. The site is within walking distance from of Eden Park and West Wickham overland stations.
Maudsley Hospital (headquarters)
Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2) and is within walking distance from the beautiful green spaces of Ruskin park and the vibrant high-street that offers great shopping opportunities and with a wide range restaurants.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional IT qualification or 5+ years in an IT environment
- Experience in IT application support
- Good general education, preferably to degree level
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Additional professional IT certifications
- Experience with ICT solution implementation in clinical settings
Experience
Essential criteria
- 2+ years managing clinical or patient information systems
- Experience with contract management of external vendor/suppliers
- Experience supporting users with varying technical knowledge
- Strong understanding of clinical data quality and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access)
Desirable criteria
- Project management experience (Prince2 preferred)
- Familiarity with ITIL practices
- Experience with T-SQL, HL7 messaging standard
