Job overview
Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.
As the Bexley Cancer CCPL, your primary responsibility will be to provide cross system strategic and operational leadership, and clinical input to improve health outcomes for Bexley residents through progressing the national cancer agenda including improvements to cancer screening uptake within the communities we serve.
Strategically, the post-holder will represent the needs of Bexley residents at forums within the borough and at a SEL and pan-London level. Operationally, the role will be the go-to point for all thematic queries and concerns relating to cancer pathways locally.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work alongside colleagues from primary, community and secondary care, commissioning, and the Cancer Alliance to develop the necessary relationships to support the early identification of cancers and delivery of high-performing pathways of care to patients. A fundamental part of the role will be supporting our Local Care Networks to improve the population health of our neighbourhoods through increased uptake of breast, bowl and cervical screening.
We are therefore seeking a clinical professional who is currently working in a front-line, patient facing role in the Bexley Healthcare System who is dedicated to taking on this leadership role 2 sessions per week on a fixed term contract of employment or secondment. This individual needs to be passionate about improving patient care through working collaboratively with other service provider partners to make the strategic ambitions of more integrated care, an operational reality in Bexley.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Qualified care and/or clinical professional i.e. NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC etc. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Desirable criteria
- Certificate / qualification in programme management, service improvement or transformation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of transformational/innovative service delivery, productivity and/or transformation policy implementation.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of being part of peer networks and collaborative working
- Cross organisational and/or professional boundary collaboration experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An in-depth understanding of health and care provision and awareness of current ICS/system policies and priorities
- Champions the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion both within and outside of the organisation. Provide effective, inclusive and compassionate leadership ensuring all voices are heard and creating and nurturing a culture where staff feel safe to speak up.
Desirable criteria
- Good knowledge or cross professional transformation, digital solutions and innovative redesign.
