Job overview

Are you a band 7 or an experienced band 6 looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking a skilled, motivated and dynamic Specialist Stroke Physiotherapist with a passion for high quality care and service development. This is for a 12-month fixed term contract within the Stroke Hub Team. The team provides specialist Stroke therapy in patient’s own home. We continuously prioritise our caseload to be responsive to the changing daily needs of our service users, communicating closely with other service providers to avoid admission, where it is safe to do so, and providing onward referrals to other community services including health and social care. You will be part of a friendly and approachable team who work well together, and you will be well supported by your senior management team.

Main duties of the job

Starting with NELFT (delete for internal only) NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,303 and a maximum payment of £2,198 per annum, pro rata for part time

Experience

Essential criteria
  • To have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working as an Physiotherapist with neurological and stroke experience
  • Experience working as a qualified Physiotherapist for 5 years
  • Experience of MDT working
  • Previous experience of working in the UK or a similar health economy
  • Post registration courses completed in specific areas of neurology
  • Experience of working as a band 6 Physiotherapist and working in a variety of specialities
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of specialist interest group

Essential criteria
  • Demonstration of knowledge of standards of practice, evidence and best practice guidelines in relation to Physiotherapy
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of role of Physiotherapy in rehabilitation as well as the role of other professionals in MDT
