Job overview
The post holder will play a pivotal role in providing technical support and co-ordination of simulation training to healthcare providers.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing expert technical and administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of postgraduate education and training as part of the PGMDE team.
Main duties of the job
To provide simulation technical support predominantly on the PRUH site but also across the wider Trust sites, including mobile and ward-based environments. To lead the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all simulation and clinical skills equipment, including task trainers, high-fidelity manikins, AV/IT systems, and endoscopy equipment. To maintain simulation technology inventory, including serial numbers, service history, and condition reporting. To ensure simulation rooms and equipment are fully operational before each session; participate in equipment installation and software updates as needed.

To deliver technical support during in-situ simulation sessions, ward-based training, and mobile simulation programmes. To provide training to faculty and users on simulation equipment usage; ensure familiarity with part-task trainers and maintain their operability. To liaise closely with the Simulation Coordinator, Divisional Leads, Clinical Skills Tutors, and external AV/IT service providers to address technical faults and ensure quick resolution. To line manage the PGMDE Post Foundation Administrator and work with the wider PGMDE team to ensure that all departmental objectives are met.

Essential criteria
- University Degree or substantial experience of professional or specialist knowledge OR a relevant qualification and substantial experience through extended learning
- English, Mathematics and a Science GCSE or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within a Higher/Further Education/NHS Environment
- Experience working with Simulator mannequins or similar technology
- Proven experience in using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Databases). Advanced keyboard skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of editing/maintaining a website
Skills & Competencies
Essential criteria
- Audiovisual skills and experience, including filming and editing of procedures for academic/business purposes
- Ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
