An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Recruitment Officer who is highly driven, enthusiastic and motivated, to become part of the Recruitment department at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Reporting to the Recruitment Team Leader of your allocated area, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting adverts, interview set up and completion of contracts for both new and internal staff using the TRAC system. 

You will work closely with hiring managers providing both them and candidates with an effective recruitment service.

You will be organised and methodical in your approach and be able to react to changing demands and ensure adherence to team processes, trust policies and best practice compliance by providing comprehensive support of day-to-day recruitment activities.  

You will also have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and be passionate about providing a high quality customer service to your patients and colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to have strong administration and organisational skills and be able to liaise with employees and managers at all levels.

You should have excellent attention to detail. The post holder will also have up to date knowledge of relevant HR Systems such as ESR, TRAC and NHS Jobs, however training will be provided.

You must be a team player and an excellent communicator, confident when dealing with internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.

Such a role supports the Recruitment Team Leader, Recruitment Operations Managers and Recruitment Partners in reducing vacancy rates and contributes to the development and growth of the service as a whole.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Responsible for the implementation and administration of the Trust’s recruitment campaigns as discreet, well organised projects. This includes the following tasks:

  • Organising interview panels
  • Longlisting or arranging shortlisting with hiring managers
  • Running assessment days including taking ID documents and confidential forms from the candidates and ensuring they are processed in line with GDPR.
  • Collecting the Interview Packs form the hiring managers and ensuring that all interview notes and assessment materials are returned to Recruitment and stored appropriately.
  • Working closely with the Recruitment Assistants and external recruitment agencies (where appropriate) to ensure all pre-employment checks are completed according to the NHS Employment Check Standards.
  • Managing the deployment of the cohorts including booking accommodation and arranging attendance on induction courses

Responsible for the organisation and maintenance of candidate recruitment records.

Issuing conditional offers and sending out regret emails when informed of the interview outcomes. Keeping interview records and providing support with interview feedback.

Issuing unconditional offers when all safe-employment checks are completed and liaising with hiring managers and candidates to agree a start date of employment.

Drafting Main Terms and Conditions documents and booking new starters to Induction courses.

The nature of the job requires the post holder to be dealing with confidential and sensitive information related to patients and staff. The post holder will ensure this information is kept confidential and secure in line with Trust policies and GDPR.

  • A Levels or equivalent training and experience within Recruitment or HR
Desirable criteria
  • Degree in HR or CIPD Qualification
