Main duties of the job

To have responsibility for the following aspects of care and management: · Ensure that all care delivered is evidence based and that guidelines are up to date. · Monitor standards of care using fundamentals of care audit framework. · Selection, deployment, training and development of staff and students · Assess, develops and implement specialised nursing packages of care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain standards. · To create and support an environment of lifelong learning and continuous professional development · Refers and orders specialised tests in line with agreed protocols and clinical governance guidelines. · To assist in the development of evidence based practice in the renal service. · Delivers specialist haemodialysis treatments including HDF & SLED in acute setting. · Delivers specialist respiratory care acute CPAP,Optiflow and Bipap · Educational strategies that ensure patient care needs are met. · Provides highly specialised nursing advice to ensure appropriate treatment and care is delivered to the patient at all times in line with NICE guidelines and UK Kidney association guidelines. · Is accountable for the provision, organisation and direction of the nursing care for the patient |
