Clinical and Cancer Services Pharmacist

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

We are delighted to be recruiting for pharmacists to work as part of our Clinical Pharmacy team at The Royal Marsden. This is an ideal opportunity for a pharmacist looking to specialise in cancer treatments and to gain experience working in a world-leading cancer centre. This is a rotational post where you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a number of clinical cancer services and specialties, including oncology, haematology, clinical trials, private care, paediatric-oncology, critical care and surgery.

This role is key to delivering a high-quality clinical pharmacy service which encompasses the medical day unit and outpatient clinics, along with inpatient wards and out-of-hospital SACT delivery and administration. This post will be supporting the multidisciplinary team working with key stakeholders within pharmacy, nursing and medicine to promote timely delivery of SACT and to continually improve outcomes for our patients.

The Royal Marsden moved to a new Epic Digital Health Record in March 2023, which has revolutionised how we practice and deliver care to patients. The Oak Cancer Centre (a new, state-of-the-art treatment and research facility) opened in June 2023 on the Sutton site, and along with future development plans for the Chelsea site, there’s never been a more exciting time to join The Royal Marsden pharmacy team.

Main duties of the job

Provide expert advice and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and timely delivery of Systemic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) and other medications.
