Job overview
This post has been devised to support the surgical team who currently provide specialist services to patients in southwest London and supra specialist services to patients from the south and south east of England. The successful applicant will have an interest in diagnostic services for prostate cancer, the management of early-stage disease as well as general urologic/robotic surgery. An interest in focal therapy would be beneficial as we intend to contribute to a local network service starting with Nanoknife. All the urologists provide support to the specialities in the hospital on urological aspects of care, including urinary diversion, stent management and general urology. The appointee will be supported and mentored by colleagues in setting up and evolving in their new role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and adaptable surgeon who is committed to collaborative, multidisciplinary working. In addition to delivering high-quality care within their own specialty, the post holder will be expected to provide cross-specialty support by assisting with and contributing to other specialties’ theatre lists as service demands require. This role requires flexibility and a strong team ethic, with a willingness to participate in weekend working and extended hours in line with clinical need, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of surgical services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professional practice.
