This post holder will manage some of our relationships with industry partners, looking at where we can extend our commercial research portfolio as a site, as well as looking for opportunities to develop The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Investigator lead Trials portfolio.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be undertaking a research project on recurrent gynaecological cancer. They will be working with gynaecological cancerology teams to develop novel strategies for case selection, treatment and predicting outcomes from surgery and from post-surgery treatment. This project will include image analysis to develop predictive models for case selection for pelvic exenteration surgery and predictive models for survival, case selection for post-exenteration treatment and for quality of life.

Education
Essential criteria
- GMC qualification
- Commitment to continued professional development.
Desirable criteria
- Higher degree qualification (e.g. MA/MSc) in a relevant subject.
- Experience in working in a gynaecological cancer MDT
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working, at ST3+ level, in a gynaecological cancer centre or unit.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in gynaecological cancer surgery
Skills
Essential criteria
- Proven ability to use initiative to highlight potential problems/issues and to implement successful solutions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact positively with very senior stakeholders
- Self-starter, with ability to prioritise effectively and work flexibly to tackle new challenges and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Team working skills
- Excellent IT skills; including MS Office suite and relevant project management software.
- Resilient with a drive and capacity for quick and accurate turnaround of work.
