RNLD
Knowledge of current research and legislation in the field of learning disability Nursing and ability to translate evidence into practice
2 years post-registration experience of learning disability nursing
Experience of working with people with learning disabilities with complex physical health needs.

Desirable criteria

Evidence of post qualification training experience up to MA level in a relevant field
Evidence of further associated qualifications/CPD in Learning Disability Practice.
Experience of working with people with learning disabilities who engage in behaviours that challenge
Experience of assessing people with suspected dementia and autism
Experience of nursing in the community/CLDT
Ability to communicate effectively across organisations and disciplines at different levels

Sound knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, national policy and good practice guidance relating to people with learning disabilities. In particular, evidence based practice, clinical audit and the current access to healthcare agenda.

Desirable criteria

Experience of working with people with a Learning Disability in an acute/hospital setting.

Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.

ADOS Autism Assessor for Children and Young People, based in our Exeter clinic

Time commitment: Full-time employment is preferred, though we can also offer part-time (minimum of 3 days per week) or a self-employed role (again a minimum of 3 days per week).

Location: This role is in-person based at our Exeter, Devon clinic.
