Consultant - Community Paediatrics
NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant
As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination uptake as this remains the best line of defence against COVID19.
Job overview
The post has arisen due to a vacancy in Community Paediatrics. The appointee to the post of Consultant in Paediatric Neurodisability will be a member of a team of six Consultant Community Paediatricians. The service is integrated with acute Paediatrics which has twelve Consultants. Together, both teams take on the co-ordination and delivery of a high quality Paediatric Service in Croydon.
Applications will be considered from individuals with a CCT (or within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview) or with a Certificate of Equivalence of Specialist Registration (CESR).
We meet the London quality standards for Paediatric Care by delivering a sustainable consultant led service.
The Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) area within CUH emergency department caters for approximately one third (approx. 25,000 children annually) of all attendances and due to the diverse population in the Croydon area we see a wide variety of acute pathology. A completely new Emergency Department (including PED) opened in December 2018. The new PED has state of the art facilities including two high specification resuscitation cubicles and one HDU cubicle.
Croydon Health Services offers a family friendly working approach for all staff to ensure a good work-life balance. It is an environment where family life is promoted. The Trust provides a supportive mentoring and career planning programme.
