An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Macmillan Specialist Psychotherapist to join the Cancer Psychological Support Team at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
This 0.8 WTE post (30 hours per week) offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer across the Croydon community. The successful applicant will provide specialist psychological support to patients at all stages of the cancer pathway, from diagnosis through treatment, living with and beyond cancer, recurrence, advanced disease and end-of-life care.
We are looking for a compassionate and highly skilled psychotherapist with experience of working with cancer patients, their families and carers. You will be passionate about improving access to psychological support and committed to addressing the needs of the diverse communities we serve.
The role will involve delivering a range of evidence-based psychological interventions, including one-to-one therapeutic work and group support programmes. You will also be encouraged to contribute innovative ideas that help develop and improve psychological support services across Croydon, including opportunities to deliver care closer to patients' homes through neighbourhood-based and community-focused approaches.
As part of a well-established multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with psychologists, administrative colleagues, Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists, consultants and a wide range of allied health professionals involved in patient care. The ability to work collaboratively and build strong professional relationships is essential.
