Physiotherapist – Orthopaedic / Surgical Team Lead

The opportunity has arisen to join out Inpatient Therapy Team, we are looking for Highly Experienced Physiotherapist to lead the Orthopaedic and Surgical physiotherapy team.
We are looking for a highly motivated Physiotherapist to join and lead the Orthopaedic / Surgical therapy team who is driven to deliver high quality, patient centered care and is willing to actively participate and lead the services going forward in order to deliver the best possible model of care, fit to meet the needs in the modern NHS. As the Team Lead you will need to drive forward service development, promoting excellent care by leading on implementation of guidelines and promoting evidence based practice.
You should have Substantial post-graduation experience, with significant Band 6 experience including relevant NHS experience.
As a department, we are committed to providing an excellent service to our patients and we believe strongly in the continued development of all our staff.

Main duties of the job
- Manage a caseload of patients with routine and complex needs, using evidence based/patient focused principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
- To actively participate in the weekend and on call rota.
- To provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Physiotherapy services within the Surgical /Orthopaedic team, holding responsibility for defined projects
- To contribute to the maintenance and development of the trust Physiotherapy service
- To regularly supervise Physiotherapy students on placement

Essential criteria
- Graduate in physiotherapy
- Registered with the Health Professional Council (HCPC)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Broad post graduate experience to include rotations in Elder rehabilitation & Neurology, Respiratory care and Musculoskeletal Out-patients, Orthopaedics.
- Worked within a Multidisciplinary team.
- On-call experience.
- Experience with trauma management including Trauma pathways and Rehab Prescriptions.
- Experience managing elective and trauma orthopaedics
- Experience of managing surgery
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Essential criteria
- Excellent time management & organisational skills
- Excellent team worker with leadership skills
- Ability to manage potential conflict/difficult situations
- Evidence of ability to manage complex orthopaedic and surgical patients including appropriate bracing and splinting.
- Knowledge of relevance and application of outcome measures.
- Awareness of appropriate standards and national guidelines
- Proven respiratory experience to manage post operative chests at a ward level
Desirable criteria
- Involved in Acute Service clinical audit.
- Critical Care experience
