Are you an NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking to work flexible shifts in West London? West London NHS trust is currently recruiting to our bank pool of RMN’s to assist in the delivery of individualised recovery focused patient care.

Our services include acute inpatient care services at Hammersmith and Fulham and Lakeside Mental Health Unit, as well as Forensic medium and low secure units at St Bernards Hospital Ealing.

If you are an experienced RMN with a commitment to delivering high quality recovery centred care, working bank at west London NHS Trust could be the ideal role for you. Providing you with the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in our acute and forensic units and career development within a forward thinking and diverse environment.

Working on the bank we offer weekdays, nights and weekend shifts, these are easy to view and book through the allocate app.

We provide an extensive induction to the trust and additional ongoing support to all our bank staff

Main duties of the job

Person specification

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • Registered on the NMC register, parts RN3, RNMH and RN4.
  • Diploma/Degree in Mental Health nursing.
  • Willing to participate in Preceptorship programme.
  • Willing to undertake accredited courses in mental health practice leading to degree level.
Desirable criteria
  • Degree in Health Care related subject

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as a student in a health care setting
  • Must have completed post registration preceptorship period
  • An understanding of using essential processes that apply to the specific dimensions of the KSF outline.
  • To understand the requirements of the NMC Code of Practice
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a care environment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Demonstration of a developing knowledge and skill base of psychiatric nursing care
  • Ability to develop and maintain communication with people about difficult matters and/or in difficult situations.
  • Ability to develop own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to help their development.
