Job overview

Are you a compassionate and driven Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in community mental health?

Join our dynamic and supportive team and play a crucial role in empowering individuals to live their best lives within the community.

At West London NHS Trust, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, recovery-focused mental health services. We work collaboratively with service users, their families, and other health professionals to promote recovery, independence, and well-being. Our team believes in creating a positive and inclusive environment where both staff and service users can thrive.

As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist in our community mental health team MINT, you will assess, plan, and deliver interventions that promote mental health recovery and support individuals in leading meaningful and independent lives. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified OTs or those seeking to develop their clinical skills in a community-based setting as outlined in the community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults (2019).

We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and proactive Occupational Therapists who are passionate about mental health. Whether you are newly qualified or have some experience, we value individuals who are motivated to grow and develop their skills.

Main duties of the job

Your key responsibilities will include:

·       Assessing clients’ functional abilities and identifying needs related to mental health, daily living, and social participation

·       Developing individualized care and intervention plans to enhance clients’ independence and quality of life

·       Collaborating with service users, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, person-centered care

·       Supporting clients in developing coping strategies, managing daily routines, and accessing community resources

·       Facilitating group and individual therapy sessions focused on occupational engagement

·       Contributing to discharge planning and linking clients to the community.
