To provide mental health and specialist systemic therapy assessments of a significant and complex nature with a view of formulating and implementing plans for the treatment and management of an infant and young child’s presentation within the context of family and other systems. These assessments will be based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and will employ research-based evidence and information from appropriate rating scales, self-report measure, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care and service user feedback.
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual young child, family, or group.
To be responsible for implementing a range of systemic psychotherapeutic interventions. Drawing upon different explanatory models to maintain several provisional hypotheses in reaching a formulation and treatment plan
