Job overview
• This is split role between Procurement/Stores and Homecare
• The post holder will support the management of procurement, stores, distribution and homecare service at North Middlesex Hospital.
• To support and direct the work of all procurement and store staff ensuring standard operating procedures are followed and standards maintained.
· To support the homecare team with day to day running of service.
• To manage an accurate record of outstanding stock orders for wards and departments and ensure the appropriate communication and action is taken to obtain the supply or an approved alternative is supplied
• To train, appraise and mentor junior staff rotating through the Procurement, Store and Homecare departments, including pre-registration Pharmacists & pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians
Main duties of the job
· To support the management of the homecare team for the day-to-day operation of the service. This includes raising orders, receiving medicine and invoicing. Ensure all medication is ordered, delivered, received and invoiced on CMM (JAC).
· Support in resolving queries- suppliers, clinical teams etc
· Homecare prescription management is maintained and recorded following SOP’s
· To support the expansion of homecare services and increase patient numbers
· To ensure that a set of written standard operating procedures for all activities involved in homecare and invoicing is maintained.
· Attend London Procurement Partnership Homecare consortium meetings and meet regularly with supplier representatives – to improve our level of service and pass relevant information to relevant parties. Update and mo Senior Pharmacy Techician- Homecare and Stores nitor contract changes from CMU
· Identify possible shortages and escalate solutions/recommendations to Senior Pharmacist team & Medicines Information

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· To answer the departmental telephones (when appropriate) in a prompt and courteous manner. To direct enquiries to suitable departments or individuals
· To assist with tracking activities and maintaining appropriate audit trails
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in working areas at all times
· To assist in maintaining departmental security at all times.
· Observe safe working practices to avoid placing themselves, other staff, patients or visitors at risk by their actions
· To always comply with all departmental procedures and to ensure they are followed by junior staff
· To uphold the principles of Clinical Governance within the Trust
· To be aware of and apply relevant legislation such as Health and Safety at Work Act, COSSH, Medicines Act, GMP.

Person specification
Education & professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Holds an NVQ Pharmacy Service Level 3 /with accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical sciences) or equivalent.
- Registered with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or working towards
Desirable criteria
- Experience Portfolio demonstrating competence of previous and current pharmacy practice skills, knowledge and CPD.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post qualification experience of hospital pharmacy
- Experience in a supervisory capacity
- Previous experience in Homecare
Desirable criteria
- Previous Procurement & Stores/Distribution experience
- Experience of stock management.
- Post qualification experience of hospital pharmacy.
Skills and aptitudes

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
