Detailed job description and main responsibilities

i) To take operational day to day management responsibility as required at team/service level using performance management systems to ensure the effective delivery of contract activity to agreed quality standards

ii) To work in conjunction with the Team Leader to deliver integrated governance requirements, this may include contributing to the developing of policy and guidelines which determine practice standards.

iii) To work with the Team Leader to ensure that staff are compliant with safeguarding requirements to protect children and vulnerable adults.

iv) To provide professional supervision and support for both clinically qualified staff, students and support staff, always ensuring clinical best practice.

Essential criteria

Registered Mental Health Nurse with Current registration with NMC
Demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills
Demonstrable skill of implementing change processes

Experience/ Knowledge

Essential criteria

Demonstrate experience in a senior specialist capacity caring for people with mental health problems and/or dementia in a community care or inpatient setting.
Demonstrate experience in a senior specialist capacity caring for people with mental health problems and/or dementia in a community care or inpatient setting.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Mental Health legislation or social care legislation relevant, its application and use in practice.

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.

ADOS Autism Assessor for Children and Young People, based in our Exeter clinic

Time commitment: Full-time employment is preferred, though we can also offer part-time (minimum of 3 days per week) or a self-employed role (again a minimum of 3 days per week).
