Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust is responsible for providing mental health services for people of all ages across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, as well as providing some specialist services across the whole of North London and beyond. Since January 2011, the Trust also provides adult and children’s community health services in Enfield, following the transfer of Enfield Community Services from NHS Enfield.

BEH and Camden and Islington foundation trust have now formed a comprehensive partnership and Trust ( The North London Foundation Trust) to collaborate and work with the North Central London integrated care board (ICB) to ensure that there is comprehensive transformation of care for the people living in the boroughs of Barnet Camden Enfield Haringey and Islington and we are working with ICB and GP network to ensure that people living in the NCL sector are provided with effective compassionate and equitable care irrespective of their post code within the NCL sector. The North London Foundation Trust understands the importance of resilient childhood and have embarked on a path to provide effective, personalised, timely and compassionate care to young people living in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. The trust has created a specific CAMHS division to focus on achieving this aim.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, approachable and motivated LAS Doctor ST4-ST6 to join the Barnet Enfield and Haringey CAMHS division in a full-time post to help in managing the care of young people living requiring assessment and treatment within Enfield CAMHS (Generic/ Neurodevelopmental- full time for a 1-year Fixed Term Contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a Trust LAS doctor to work within a well-functioning and closely knit multidisciplinary team of committed professionals in CAMHS. This is an existing ST4 trainee post which has become vacant as the current post holder has moved on within the Tavistock Training Scheme. The LAS Trust Doctor will be encouraged to participate in various QI projects across the service and participate in teaching medical students, MDT team and psychiatry trainees as well. The Trust is embarking on an ambitious transformation of services within CAMHS using the THRIVE principles and the candidate would be encouraged to develop and contribute towards these changes to deliver an effective and compassionate service to the young people living within Barnet Enfield and Haringey.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This post is part of Enfield Specialist CAMHS. The service includes a number of generic and specialist teams for Children, Young People and Families. Enfield CAMHS (Generic / Neurodevelopmental Service) is multi-disciplinary team that offers a comprehensive outpatient based service to children and adolescents under the age of 18, and their families, who are registered with Enfield GPs for a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders. Within Enfield Tier 3 CAMHS, there are other key services listed below. There are also close links with the Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service (Tier 2 service within schools) as well as with the Educational Psychology Service, Children’s Social Services and with Paediatrics

Qualifications & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Eligible for full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise from the GMC by the intended start date
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in psychiatry (its equivalent gained on a part time basis) or equivalent experience and competencies in psychiatric specialties
Desirable criteria
  • Other postgraduate qualification of relevance

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Clinical interest in the practice of Psychiatry of at least three years. Applicant must be able to provide complete details of their employment history Risk assessment and risk management

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written
  • Excellent skills in assessing physical health and undertake physical examination and blood Experience of working in a multi-cultural society tests

  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural societ
