Job overview

The Universal service was set up to improve outcomes for children 0-5 years  living in Enfield by improving access to allied health services. There is a particular focus on reducing inequalities and focusing services within areas of Enfield most affected. This is done through drop in clinic, outreach work and training.  The universal team is made up of (but is not limited to) speech and language therapists (SLT), occupational therapists (OT), physiotherapists, Early years practitioners, and administrators.

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic OT, with an interest in working with children and addressing health inequalities, to join our lovely team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as part of the multidisciplinary Universal team for children 0-5. The role will include running drop-in clinics, screening young children and providing appropriate advice and or onward referrals, liaising with other teams e.g. NHS, Enfield council and voluntary council. The role will also include working with the MDT on outreach projects and delivering training to the wider community.

The post holder will have a role in the development, planning and provision of universal and targeted support  within Enfield.

The post holder will be responsible for fostering strong relationships and facilitating communication between the Universal Team and other services such as the the  Community OT Team, to optimise service delivery. Additionally, you will participate in service improvement initiatives and contribute to quality enhancement efforts within the team.

In all the work that you do, you will be expected to represent the role of Occupational Therapy, to colleagues, professionals and families, to ensure that the support offered within the team truly represents the multidisciplinary expertise represented. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of service provision adhere to relevant performance standards, including safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
