Senior Healthcare Assistant. 

Orsett Minor Injuries Unit

The Minor Injury Unit at Orsett Hospital is looking to recruit a band 3 Senior Health care assistant/ Administrative assistant to their small and friendly team.

The Minor Injury Unit operates a walk in service 7 days a week, from 10am - 8pm and specializes in acute injury management in a nurse led environment. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP's) in delivering high quality care to both adults and children in an urgent care setting.  Responsibilities will include:-

  • delivering wound care both autonomously and under the supervision of the ENP
  • near patient testing
  • plastering
  • responsible for ordering and monitoring stock levels of equipment and pharmacy
  • health and safety monitoring including environment and equipment checks
  • audits
  • covering reception/admin duties as required and being proficient with system 1
  • involvement in safeguarding adults and children
  • deep cleaning and stocking the Unit
  • assisting in emergency situations (the ENP's carry the emergency bleep for the hospital)
  • responsible for keeping mandatory training up-to-date and own personal development

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).
