Job overview
Community CAMHS is made up of First Steps and CAMHS Disability services. First Steps is an early intervention community psychology service for children and young people with mild-to-moderate emotional, behavioural and relationship difficulties. The CAMHS Disability Service supports children with moderate to profound learning disability. Both services are inclusive and offer interventions for those with Autism. Referrals are diverse, reflecting our local community which we are proud to serve. We are a forward thinking, passionate team.
If you are motivated and enthusiastic to work with us whilst completing the CYP IAPT Psychological Training course this an ideal position to apply to.
*The post may close early due to application numbers*
Main duties of the job
These are NHSE funded training posts as part of the Child and Young People’s (CYP) Psychological Trainings which involves part time working as a trainee CAMHS Clinician in Community CAMHS and part time studying with UCL/Anna Freud undertaking a programme of training in ASC/LD.
The training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using the core principles of the CYP Psychological Training Programme and consistent with the evidence base - ASC/LD modality. The post-holder will work in the service, using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme or undertaking self-study days for the remaining days, as required by the education provider.
The post holder will hold an appropriate training case load and complete the necessary assignments to meet the course requirements.
Candidates will need to apply to and be successful for both the CYP PT: Therapy trainee role ASC/LD via the NHS and the UCL training course.
