Job overview
1. Child Development Assessment Clinics -Neurodevelopmental assessment.
2. Assessment for children referred under 5 years for diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
3. Support coordinating within Multidisciplinary Integrated Service at Ham clinic, Richmond- joint assessments/MDT review/Hip surveillance / development of care pathways/ transitions.
4. Provide medical advice to the Local SEND according to statutory legislation and guidance for children with special educational needs.
5. Child protection medicals and attendance at Peer review.
Main duties of the job
Developmental Assessment Clinics
This clinic based work includes face to face and telephone clinics for new and review cases presenting with developmental concerns accepted through our referrals pathway(ITAC). Assessment to consider possible diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Movement Disorders and Neuromuscular Disorders and Globally Impaired Developmental Profile.
Work includes assessment and ongoing management of children and young people with complex neuro-developmental needs including movement disorder and Genetic conditions as part of Multidisciplinary Team .
Supporting Multidisciplinary working
To oversee and manage Multidisciplinary team - coordinate and plan MDT meetings including Transition and Early Years focus with allied professional teams. Support development of care pathways including transitions and patient passports.
Assessment Autism Spectrum Disorder
The Community Paediatricians play a key role in our ASD assessment pathways.
Following National Guidance for Multidisciplinary assessment working closely with colleagues in speech and language and education.
Child Protection
To see children and young people referred for child protection medicals as part of the joint Child protection rota with Kingston hospital.
There will be opportunities to further enhance Safeguarding experience and lead in this area.
