Job overview

As an autonomous practitioner, provide a specialist evidence based 
dietetic service to inpatients working alongside Clinical Specialist 
Dietitians and designated therapy teams. Contribute to the nutritional 
management of patients across a range of clinical areas, support junior 
staff development, deliver education and training, undertake audit and quality improvement activities, and participate in a rotational 
programme covering Neurosciences, Oncology, HPB, Surgery, Renal 
and Critical Care specialties

Main duties of the job

We have the pleasure to announce an exciting opportunity for a dietitian eager to broaden their clinical skills via fascinating clinical rotations, to join our dynamic multi-professional therapy team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicants will have a sound knowledge base in all forms of nutrition support and a wide variety of clinical conditions. They will relish the challenge of integrating nutrition science with other therapies to provide a holistic care plan for wide range of patients. They will thrive when working closely as a part of MDT and be ready to further develop their skills in service development and quality improvement, as well management and education of junior staff and other health professionals. They will be keen to actively contribute to an ongoing development of our dietetic and wider therapies department.

Education & professional Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Additional qualification or BDA accredited courses or equivalent in-house training e.g. PENG clinical update,
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of special interest group

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad range of clinical experience, across a variety of clinical areas to include nutrition support in both in and out-patients
  • Experience of working within an MDT
  • Presentations to groups/teaching other Healthcare Professionals

  • Motivational Interviewing/ Behaviour Change training (CBT or facilitation skills)
