Job overview

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex liver conditions, including pre-and post liver transplant patients. This is a fast-paced, high specialised clinical are requiring advance clinical skills, strong leadership and a compassionate approach.

You will support the Ward Manager in leading the team, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care and contributing to the ongoing development of staff and services. You will act as a role model and clinical expert, promoting excellence in  using practice and supporting patients through often life-changing diagnosis and treatments.

Main duties of the job

Deliver skilled, evidence-based nursing care to patients with acute and chronic liver disease, including those undergoing liver transplantation. Act as a shift leader, coordinating care, managing the ward safely and supporting junior staff.

Participate in and support the education, training and development of team members, including students and newly qualified nurses
Liaise closely with multidisciplinary team, including hepatologist, transplant team, dieticians, physiotherapist and specialist nurses.
Participate in clinical audits
