Are you looking for an innovative role in a multidisciplinary team? This fantastic opportunity awaits a dynamic, motivated Occupational Therapist looking to develop clinical, operational and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for providing specialised Occupational Therapy (OT) service to patients treated within RFH services in the given clinical area.
This requires working under guidance and incorporating evidence-based practice (EBP) in the management of patient care.
Clinically supervises and guides the professional work of less experienced therapy staff and students as appropriate, while complying with professional and departmental standards of practice.
Assist in operational issues in the absence of the Therapy Team Leader.
Participates in a nine monthly rotational scheme across the following:
Vascular and Amputees
Trauma and Orthopaedics
Hand Therapy
Health Services for Older People
Rapid Response / A&E
Acute Stroke and Neurology

- HPC Registration in OT

Experience
Essential criteria
- Post-graduate work experience as an Occupational Therapist, including working with patients in relevant clinical areas
- Experience of working as an OT with patients with dementia
- Experience of working as an OT with patients with Neurological conditions.
- Experience of working in an inpatient physical setting.
- Experience of working in an acute setting.
- Experience of a hospital based Occupational Therapy Service, including working with an MDT.

- Evidence of a clear understanding of the role of the Occupational Therapist in an acute hospital setting
- Evidence of sound and clear understanding of Occupational Therapy core skills
- Evidence of sound clinical knowledge and well established assessment and treatment skills
