Main duties of the job

We invite applications for the post of a locum general paediatric consultant with Gastro interest (6PA) – fixed term for 3 months.  The post holder will be part of the Paediatric Gastroenterology team at Royal Free Hospital site supporting along the team with the transfer of service to Great Ormond Street Hospital.  They will provide paediatric sub-speciality clinics (Gastro).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The job comprises 5 DCC and 1 SPA – additional SPA activity is available depending on roles the successful candidate chooses to develop. See attached job description and person spec.

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • On the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) for Paediatrics
  • Registered with the GMC and within 6 months of being accepted for the specialist register for paediatrics
  • APLS/NLS provider
Desirable criteria
  • APLS/NLS Instructor

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Wide range of experience including neonatology in a level 2 or 3 centre at middle grade or above
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the environment in which the service needs to be delivered
  • Interest or experience in Paediatric Gastroenterology
  • Experience in Children’s safeguarding.
  • Ability to support a multidisciplinary team
