An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Private Patients Therapy Service for a Part Time Band 6 Speech-Language Therapy post. This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced speech and language therapist to join our team. This post holder will work as part of the Private Patients multidisciplinary team, providing specialist speech-language services to patients presenting with communication and swallowing impairments arising from a variety of aetiologies.

The post holder will:

  • Be responsible for providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adult patients in an inpatient and acute setting
  • Be part of the Private Practice Therapy team who has clinical links to the following specialty groups; Health Services for Elderly people, General Medicine, Neuro rehabilitation, Critical Care / respiratory and Surgical.
  • Work in partnership with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent outcomes including active participation in multi-disciplinary meetings, goal setting and timetabling meetings
  • Contribute to inpatient rehabilitation for patients from oversees including working alongside interpreters and creating culturally appropriate materials


You will be joining the Private Practice therapy team and a team of SLT’s across all of our sites. You will be well supported with opportunities for supervision and access to joint working with a permanent band 7 Speech and Language therapist based in Private Patients. Personal and professional development is actively supported through clinical supervision, appraisal and opportunities for training. You will be expected to participate in service initiatives and audits and to also support with student placements and provide clinical education and training to other healthcare professionals.


The Speech and Language Therapy team run both Videofluoroscopy and FEES instrumental assessment clinics which the post holder will have the opportunity to participate in.
