Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist to expand their skills and knowledge in both invasive and non-invasive cardiology.

The Cardiac Department provides a wide range of diagnostic procedures including: 

  • All non-invasive testing
  • Transplant and VAD assessments, including CPEX testing.

The successful candidate will initially work directly under supervision in the non-invasive and transplant sections of the department. Thereafter, following internal sign-off against competenices, will work independently or as part of a team. 

 

 

Main duties of the job

A period of supervised training, assessment and competencies before undertaking autonomous performance of:

- Non-invasive and transplant cardiology testing and reporting.

- Ward and theatre based testing and reporting.

Knowledge/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Has already graduated from or is about to graduate from an approved undergraduate programme: BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiac Physiology)
  • Has achieved ILS (immediate life support) through the NHS or University

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with people in the NHS

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Can demonstrate when to escalate findings and call for help
