Exciting opportunity to take the next step in your podiatry career.
The post holder will already be working as part of a community podiatry team which works across both Islington and Haringey.
The post holder will have post registration NHS experience, and/or completed an additional post registration accredited clinical orientation programme or competency-based programme, enabling them to deliver high standards of clinical care working as an autonomous practitioner as required within both community and acute settings.
The post holder will be expected to independently assess, diagnose, develop, and implement individual care programmes for patients with a wide variety of multifactorial clinical needs, providing specialist care and highly specialist advice for patients with diabetes, dermatological and biomechanical problems.
The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload of domiciliary patients, liaising with all parties of the multiprofessional team to ensure effective patient care. They will have line management responsibilities.
The postholder will be expected to work across both Islington and Haringey boroughs according to service needs as well as at the Acute Hospital Clinic.
Main duties of the job
a) To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of Podiatric care to a variety of patients (both adults and children) with a wide range of clinical needs to include; High risk diabetes, neuropathy, HIV, chronic disease e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, vascular disease, terminally ill, mental health patients and those requiring specialist would management and tissue viability assessment. Staff will be required to re-assure, educate, and negotiate potentially complex treatment options where denial of pathology or compliance with treatment may be an issue, overcoming communication barriers.
b) To be responsible for the interpretation of clinical findings and decision for onward referral for other interventions from other disciplines and/or additional departmental specialist areas, with communication thereof to all appropriate parties.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration with the HCPC as a podiatrist
- BSc or Diploma Equivalent in Podiatry
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in Local Analgesia
Skills and abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to work as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrating accuracy for bot literacy and numeracy
- Good organisational skills demonstrating ability to independently manage domiciliary caseload
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- 12 month or more post qualification experience
- Evidence of participating in and leading CPD
- Completion of internal band 6 competency list and/or some post registration qualification or further learning
