Job overview
The post holder, working closely with the Business Manager, will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the service.
To work closely with counterpart ASM ensuring the smooth running of the service.
Line Management responsibility of Team Leaders and Patient Pathway Coordinators.
Leadership of the departmental performance KPIs and designated projects (financial, operational and clinical) are met.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the Business Manager, General Manager, and operational leads Leads with day to day management of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology services.
- Line Management responsibility of Team Leaders and Patient Pathway Coordinators
- Leadership of the departmental performance KPIs (Cancer, RTT, Service reports)

Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills and management experience
- Previous operational management experience within the NHS or similarly complex organisation
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and experience of service improvement tools and techniques.
- A sound understanding of HR processes.
- Proven track record of meeting significant national targets.
- Experience of staff management, including setting objectives, team and individual appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of staff levels and professions.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data and statistics e.g. activity trends, financial data.

- Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to motivate and engage individuals and team.
