The post supports the leadership and operational delivery of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle across the Trust within a clinical governance framework throughout the Trust. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Midwife for Quality and Safety to lead the development of full implementation and sustainability of the care bundle across the Trust.
The post holder will lead and facilitate quality improvement and audit programmes aimed at equipping maternity and neonatal staff to increase their knowledge and competence in risk assessments during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period in all clinical settings and improve clinical decision making and escalation.
Main duties of the job
- Provide safe and effective care to pregnant women during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period
- Provide proactive and effective Leadership
- Expert Practitioner
- Work in partnership with women and their families
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Multidisciplinary team
- Highly developed communication skills in challenging situations in which there may be barriers to communication and changing circumstances
- Provides specialist midwifery care for a specific group of women
- Advises and provides specialist support to midwives in related clinical areas
- Shares specialist knowledge with other professional group and agencies
