We are recognised locally, nationally and internationally for providing high quality, innovative healthcare. We aim to employ only the best people, and our experts are frequently called upon to contribute to national health strategy and policy, and many models of our care have been adapted for use in other countries.

You’ll work with children and young people aged 0–19 with a range of needs, helping them overcome barriers to participation and achieve the things that matter to them. You’ll work closely with families, schools, SEND colleagues and our wider MDT.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about paediatric OT, confident in their clinical decision-making, collaborative, open to new ideas and committed to developing themselves and others.

We offer a robust CPD programme, internal and external training.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 7 Paediatric OT, you will use your specialist clinical knowledge & experience to deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment & intervention to children & young people across a range of settings & needs.

You will work autonomously across schools, children’s centres, nurseries, homes & clinics, often as a lone worker. Confidence in autonomous practice, safe lone working & managing a varied caseload is therefore essential.

You will use your clinical reasoning to develop & deliver clear, goal-focused care plans, with concise & comprehensive documentation demonstrating your assessment, clinical reasoning & decision-making.

Working collaboratively is central to this role. Safeguarding will remain central to all aspects of your practice.

As a Band 7, you will lead, support & develop others, providing supervision, training & guidance to junior staff & contributing to the quality of care delivered. You will also contribute proactively to service development, identifying opportunities to improve practice & support the continued development of the OT service.

Working for our organisation

We are a dynamic OT service, passionate about supporting children, young people & families across Hillingdon, while also supporting our staff to develop and thrive.

We strongly encourage staff input & influence to help shape our OT service & the wider multidisciplinary team. We value personal development & offer an established internal training programme alongside regular opportunities for external training.

We recognise that Band 7s play an important role in providing clinical leadership within our teams, supporting leadership and management activities alongside their clinical responsibilities.
