Job overview

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Anaesthesics at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.  This post is for 6 months – 1 year from August 2025.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work in a 1 in 8 EWTD compliant rota to provide anaesthetic cover in a senior anaesthetic capacity: the role will include covering both adult and paediatric emergencies in theatres and resus, second on obstetric anaesthetist, ITU support.

The role will cover work at both sites
At The Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital
•    Theatres / Anaesthesia and Perioperative care, including pre-operative assessment
•    Pain and analgesia service
•    Transfer of patients to other hospitals
•    Resuscitation service

Person specification

Essential

Essential criteria
  • MBBS and Primary FRCA (or equivalent)
  • GMC registration
  • 3 year or more post graduate training, minimum 1 year of working in the UK
  • IAC and IAOC complete
  • Experience in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and paediatric anaesthesia/emergencies at registrar level
  • Teaching, audit and administration skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team
Desirable criteria
  • Final FRCA or equivalent
  • Publications
  • Motivation to maintain and improve the service
